The Out-of-School Time Assistant Site Coordinator will supervise and run out-of-school time programming at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School. This position will be responsible for creating a safe space and environment for young people at the learning center.
Leadership
-
Lead Chill Zone each day after school. This can include developing activities for students to participate in during this time and keeping students engaged.

Remain at MCMS for the duration of afterschool programs and support program instructors as needed. ● Work directly with program instructors who are submitting program proposals

Use best practices for behavior management with students at Chill Zone and at afterschool programs; use practices consistent with MCMS school behavior management practices and positive youth development principles.

Support Site Coordinator with program attendance as needed.

Act as a representative of SCYC programs and promote positive youth development for youth in Montezuma County.

Support Program Instructors in providing a positive learning environment for students, utilizing positive youth development principles such as valuing student choice and connection with a trusted adult.

Support recruitment of young people as needed to participate in programming

Ensure safety of program participants and staff during programming, field trips, and events.
Financial Responsibilities

Follow SCYC policies around credit card use when purchasing program supplies and record expenses as directed by SCYC policies; return receipts in a complete and timely manner.

Maintain organizational and personal integrity surrounding money use and budgeting.
Teamwork

Act as a team member to other out-of-school time staff as well as SCYC staff.

Communicate with 21CCLC Program Director and MCMS Site Coordinator on a regular basis.

Act as part of a team that supports young people becoming leaders in their community.

Model Positive Youth Development, Trauma Informed Care, and the creation of safe spaces for youth.

Keep abreast of current literature on youth development.

Ability to record time worked on timesheets and submit in a timely manner

8 hours/week on average; negotiable based on applicant’s availability

$30.48/hour for instructional time with students; $20.45/hour for administrative work
