Youth Leadership Council
(YLC)
The Youth Leadership Council is a dynamic, student-led program where middle and high school youth work together to make a positive impact in their schools and community. YLC members develop leadership skills, build confidence, and learn how to turn ideas into action by identifying challenges, brainstorming solutions, and implementing meaningful projects. Along the way, they gain experience in public speaking, teamwork, and advocacy—skills that will serve them for a lifetime. Whether it’s organizing school-wide initiatives, sharing student perspectives with local leaders, or creating campaigns to promote kindness and inclusivity, YLC empowers young people to use their voices to create real change. SCYC's YLC program is broken down into a Middle School YLC and High School YLC, each happening at their own times in their own spaces.
