Supporting youth in Montezuma County since 1999
BOCES, or Boards of Cooperative Educational Services, are public organizations the Colorado Legislature created in 1965 to provide shared educational programs and services to school districts. San Juan BOCES was built in 1973.

SCYC is working with The Hive DGO & San Juan Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to report what our youth feel about suicide prevention supports being offered.

Spring 2021, a survey was administered at Montezuma-Cortez Middle & High School, Southwest Open School, Ignacio Middle & High School, Bayfield Middle & High School, Mancos Middle & High School, Mountain Middle School, Miller Middle School, Escalante Middle School, Durango Big Picture, Animas High School, Durango High School, Pagosa Springs High School, and Dove Creek!

Next step is to report the results to the each school district. As well as help create a short suicide awareness video staring the youth in Montezuma County.
